October is Careers in Construction Month, a nationwide initiative led by NCCER’s Build Your Future program to raise awareness of career opportunities in construction, recognize skilled professionals, and inspire the next generation of the workforce.
The need for skilled construction professionals continues to grow. According to Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the U.S. construction industry must attract an estimated 349,000 net new workers in 2026, with an additional 456,000 workers needed in 2027 to meet projected industry demand.
Evers & Sons is doing our part by providing opportunities for individuals at different stages of their careers, from students and apprentices to experienced field and office professionals.
With 750+ direct-hire craftsmen and operations spanning more than 30 states, Evers & Sons offers career opportunities throughout the energy construction industry. Our workforce includes professionals across all divisions and departments. Whether working in the field, fabrication shop, or corporate office, each role contributes to the infrastructure that supports America’s energy needs. Building a skilled workforce also means providing opportunities to learn and develop.
Our internship program introduces students to the energy construction industry through hands-on experience, exposure to industry professionals, and opportunities to explore potential career paths.
In 2026, Evers & Sons also established a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program, creating a structured pathway for individuals pursuing careers in skilled trades. The program includes:
- 4,000 hours of paid on-the-job learning
- 300 hours of related technical instruction
- A combination of classroom education and practical field experience
These programs reflect our commitment to developing skilled professionals and supporting long-term workforce growth.
Careers in construction extend well beyond traditional field positions. From engineering and project controls to welding, equipment operations, safety, and administrative support, the industry offers opportunities for individuals with a wide range of skills and experience.
This Careers in Construction Month, we recognize the employees who contribute to our success and encourage the next generation to explore a future in construction.
